One possible future, one of many

Google in 2007

It may be interesting to read this story in 2009, 2012, or 2015. At that point, we'll see whether or not Google turned out to be a more successful successor to Altavista, but a successor nonetheless (Altavista was once considered the top SE, but now is barely remembered four years later).

Yahoo Shares Plunge

You know, sometimes it's not so good to be one of the frontrunners, particularly when THE frontrunner is so far ahead that your prospects for actually winning are dim and the third runner in the group (MSN) is so far back that no one actually expects anything out of him (there's a certain calm that comes with relative anonymity and low expectations).

Google Acquires Internet

Want to look into the future... or, perhaps, a possible future, one of many ("I don't know tech" to quote Kyle Reese from "The Terminator"). This "press release" is pretty neat. But who's to say it couldn't happen?
