Social Security Administration Funding Delayed ?

On yesterday's entry, I referenced a post by Rich Feingold that discussed previously mentioned budget cuts at the social security administration. Today, an article appears on the Baltimore Sun's site with the title "SSA bracing for furlough as funding is delayed".

The link to the article can be found on a post from Attorney Charles Hall's blog (on which I discovered this article).

Mr. Hall's post posits an interesting question: Could this situation have been avoided and did the commissioner of the social security administration make a political calculation due to her own personal capital being invested in DSI (disability service improvement -- a plan to shake up the entire process of adjudicating social security disability and SSI disability claims).

The best laid plans...
