For individuals filing for social security or SSI disability in the state of Michigan, here are recent-year statistics regarding approvals and denials of disability claims.

For residents of Michigan who filed a disability application, the chance of being denied was 64.1%. For Michigan residents who decided to file an appeal following the denial of their initial claim, 70.3% of all first appeals were denied.
