Filing for Social Security Disability SSI California

In the state of California in a recent year, 55.5% of all initial disability claims were denied. Nationally, about 44.5 percent of social security disability and SSI disability claims were approved. At the first appeal level, the numbers look fairly grim. In California, disability appeals were lost at a rate just slightly under eighty-one percent. However, as bad as this seems, california disability claimants did better on reconsiderations than did disability nationally. The denial rate nationally was 84.9%
