ADHD runs in families

Another associated press article says what I've always believed to be the case with both ADHD and bipolar disorder---that it runs in families.

The study cited by the piece was conducted via analysis of year 2005 prescription claims for more than 100,000 children and their parents. This is what the study found: parents who had at least one child on ADHD meds were nine times more likely than other parents to use ADHD medications themselves.

Factoid: ADHD is 2 to 3 times more common in males versus females.
