IF you are finally determined to be disabled and start receiving your funds (I have worked all my life and have become disabled) my wife works but we have a teenage daugther - I can still have a savings account right? Someone told me I am not allowed to have any assets anymore, but I have worked all my life, and I have CD's, etc., because my wife has also worked - is that true that I can't have any assets or my wife?
Hi Anonymous, I'll post about this on the blog's home page. To answer your question, assets do not count against you if you are filing for social security disability. There is an asset limit of $2000 if you are filing for SSI disability, however.
